VR porn is so realistic more and more people have been asking if it's cheating. If the answer is yes then there are quite a few households that are going to be having some tough talks.
Many couples are just fine with it as they find that the experience is certainly immersive with a definite realistic feel, it still isn't real. CheatingRecently, a study from Newcastle University has warned that VR porn comes with risks, possibly distorting the distinction between reality and fantasy. Research lead Matthew Wood has said that "One of our findings suggested VR pornography could be something more like cheating on a partner because of the increasing 'reality' of the VR experience."
The realm of virtual reality is evolving at a rapid pace and it will only get better, and more realistic. Like with most new technologies, porn will lead the way as they're the most likely to experiment with the new tech, which means VR porn is likely to become even more of a realistic experience. For now VR porn relies on actors and the dialogue is a one-way experience, but as technology advances you can expect these interactions to become more immersive and interactive.
The VerdictSo at what point will VR porn become cheating? In reality it will depend on what you decide as a couple and there's no real hard yes or no answer without an agreement. Just remember, it's not real, it just looks that way. For now, you won't have to worry about robots coming to take your boyfriend/girlfriend away from you. In fact, many experts say the only lines that shouldn't be crossed are the ones you've agreed on together and of course spending more time with their virtual partners than with their real ones. Which for some could mean that they're cheating with Call of Duty as much as they are with VR porn.
