Dell enters the VR ring with their new mixed reality visor. They've already started taking pre-orders and it coincides with the big Windows 10 Creators Update planned for October 17th. VR content creators, developers and users alike have been very excited about this new headset but there has been some early debate concerning the effectiveness of the overall design. We can say it's amazingly comfortable!
Pre-Order DetailsAs of September 14th the WMR headsets was available to pre-order from the Official Dell website and via PCWorld in the UK. Don't worry because in no time you'll be able to line up at BestBuy to grab one of these too! An important note is that users will also need an Xbox One Bluetooth controller to interact with AR and VR apps not configured for the Dell controllers. Despite this fact, the launch price is comparable to premium headsets currently on the market. The recent price drops for the Oculus and the Vive obviously had an influence on Dell's launch plans. The headset currently costs $349.99 USD, the controllers $99.99 USD and you can get a bundle package for $449.99 USD.
VR, AR, MRUnlike the Oculus or the VIVE, Dell's new mixed reality visor is designed to seamlessly incorporate AR or augmented reality and mixed reality (MR) content. The most striking features are the duo cameras and the pair extraordinary 1440X1440 LCD viewing panels. The motion controllers are similar to the Oculus Touch controllers in shape and functionality. Dell hopes to capture a chunk of the market and prepare for content of different types. More and more users seek to bring elements of their outside world into virtual reality and leading brands are developing fun and useful AR app all the time. We see examples of engaging mixed reality all the time and this could mean more fun adult content in the form of AR. VR porn lovers could soon be enjoying AR gangbangs in their living rooms and watching lesbian scissor on their coffee tables. Try to at least tidy the place up first!
